Countries and cultures
The Middle East is predominantly Islamic and Arabic is the main languagespoken amongst the local people, but there are many cultural differences. Partof the region is organised in a council for Arab states known as the GCC (GulfCooperation Council). This consists of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, United ArabEmirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman.
