The First World Dog Puller Championship was held on 07 October in Prague(Czech Republic). 70 sportsmen from South Korea, Ukraine, Portugal, Slovakia,Hungary, Czech, and Russia took part in World Championship. Eight refereesfrom Ukraine, Czech Republic, Portugal, and Japan participated in the event.
Participants competed in the two main disciplines — PULLER RUNNING and PULLERJUMPING.
According to Dog Puller’s rules, all participants were divided into suchcategories:
- MINI — maximum shoulder height 45 cm;
- MAXI — shoulder height over 45 cm;
- HIGH DRIVE — border collies, Australian shepherds, kelpies, Belgian shepherds and their mixes;
- BULL — bull breeds and their mixes.
Sportsmen from Ukraine, the Czech Republic have got first places in PULLERRUNNING discipline. Sportsmen from Russia, South Korea and the Czech Republicbecame winners in the PULLER JUMPING.
Two world records were set at the World Championship — in the PULLER RUNNING,the category HIGH DRIVE — Jan Straka (Czech Republic) and the border collieAxios and in the PULLER JUMPING, the category HIGH DRIVE — Margarita Herman(Russia) with Border Collie Ivy.
According to the results in two disciplines, sportsmen from South Korea,Ukraine and the Czech Republic got the title of Multi Champions. Ukrainianteam became the World Champion of Dog Puller.
