PETstock Assist, PETstock’s charity organisation, is donating the equivalentof 100,000 bowls of food to animals in need this Christmas.

The national Christmas Bowl initiative will donate the money raised tocharitable organisations and local rescue groups that may be stretched thinover the Christmas period.

Jessica Curtis, PETstock Assist’s Charity and Events, said by donating just$2, the amount required for a single bowl of food, customers can make a bigdifference to these organisations.

“Food is such a key ingredient to Christmas and allows us to reconnect withloved ones – four-legged or two-legged – yet many organisations rely ondonations such as this to provide for their animals and clients.

“Through this initiative, we’re not only hoping to support the animals, butalso their owners and carers by alleviating the worry that supplying just onemeal can cause.”

Curtis said 100 per cent of PETstock Assists donations will be going towardthis initiative in the lead up to Christmas and those wishing to contributecan do so online and at various wishing trees across the country.

Courtney Lee, PETstock’s Retail Marketing Manager, said the Christmas Bowlproject is part of a wider focus to make a difference to the lives of pets andtheir families this Christmas.

“While we all love to spoil our family and pets at Christmas, we can’t forgetabout the hundreds of pets that provide support to vision impairedAustralians, companionship to the elderly or those that are waiting patientlyin the shelters for their forever family.

“When making a donation, you can still treat your furry family member to a newfestive toy by purchasing specially marked products from November untilChristmas at every PETstock store location nationally.”
