VNU Asia Pacific and VNU Exhibitions Asia, the organisers of Pet Fair South-East Asia (SEA), have announced the event will be postponed to 26-28 October2022.

Although vaccination programs are increasingly speeding up in Thailand,Vietnam, Indonesia and other ASEAN countries, travel restrictions continue andthe timeline to reopen the countries looks longer than expected. The controlof the pandemic has also met extra challenges in the recent months withfurther delays in the overall Asian region recovery plan.

Postponing Pet Fair SEA will take the event back to its original schedulingcycle. It will be held in Bangkok at the BITEC International Exhibition Centreand will create an ASEAN pet industry hub for distribution, retail andsourcing of pet food, pet supplies and veterinary products.

Pet Fair SEA is the South-East Asian edition of the ‘Pet Fair Network’, theworld’s largest innovation hub for the global pet industry with shows inShanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, and Bangkok.

It provides international pet brands with a strategic platform into South-EastAsia’s fast-emerging pet markets uniting the region’s key distribution andretail players. With Thailand ranking the fourth largest pet food exportingcountry worldwide, the show serves as a global pet food sourcing hub.

Prior to the in-person show in October 2022, the third edition of Pet FairSEA’s virtual event series ‘PreConnect’ will be held from 16-18 February 2022.

The second edition of PreConnect back in June 2021 successfully connected 300pet industry players from 61 different countries. Nearly 50 per cent of thevisitors consisted of South-East Asia-based distributors and wholesalersseeking for new partnerships in their respective growth markets.

In addition to the virtual event in February 2022, the organisers also plan tohold an in-person PreConnect Event at a hotel in Bangkok in June 2022, whichwill consist of a press conference, various conference sessions as well as asunset networking event.

Johannes C. Kraus, Project Leader, Pet Fair SEA, said the postponement of theevent will ensure international exhibitors and buyers will have planningsecurity in regard to their participation.

“We hear almost on a daily basis that everyone in the industry is determinedto finally return back to the show floor in order to talk business andpotential partnerships face-to-face again.

“In this context, we are looking forward to welcoming the international petindustry to the city of Bangkok in October 2022 for three exciting days oflearning, deal-making and celebration.”

Pet Fair SEA Pet Fair SEA is scheduled to take place from 26-28 October 2022in Bangkok, Thailand and will feature a comprehensive hosted buyer program.
