The Kaytee Animal Foundation recently donated $25,000 to the Australia ZooWildlife Hospital Bushfire Appeal to aid in Australia brushfire recoveryefforts. The funds will be used to send medical supplies to wildlife rescuerson the frontline of the fire-affected areas, for the purchase of commercialfood preparation equipment for wildlife care groups, and the purchase andregeneration of crucial habitats of native Australian birds includingparakeets, cockatiels and eclectus.
The foundation is funded through individual contributions and support fromKaytee, a subsidiary of Central Garden & Pet.
“The concern we share with our fellow animal lovers makes it vital to assistthe Wildlife Hospital Bushfire Appeal,” said Todd Regan, general manager ofCentral Specialty Pet, a business unit of Central Garden & Pet in WalnutCreek, Calif. “We support the dedication to birds in the wild and otherwildlife who are injured, in need of care and rehabilitation, and may bethreatened or endangered.
