(Beijing) The impact of novel coronavirus to China Pet industry is affectingevery business and professional. Since the outbreak, China International PetShow (CIPS) has rolled out a series of measures to minimize the negativeeffects and assist China Pet Industry.

According to the first-hand information from CIPS, the whole industry isrolling back to normal production gradually. Most factories have alreadybacked to normal production, with disinfection and personal protectionmeasures applied to the workers.

Although affected by this epidemic, 75% of the Chinese exhibitors failed tomake the trip to Global Pet Expo. (GPE) this February in Orlando, CIPSlaunched the live streaming show on GPE. As the epidemic drove the world into chaos, China’s efforts to contain thenovel coronavirus have made big difference. CIPS is taking various measures toassist the industry to control loses and rebound back to normal.

On February 24, CIPS held an online conference with China Pet IndustryCommittee of China Entry & Exit Inspection and Quarantine Association andNational Pet Industry Technology Innovation Alliance. The China Pet IndustryOnline Collaboration Conference gathered almost 500 leading enterprises’representatives from manufacturers, distributors, healthcare, education,training and partnered associations. Thirty two speakers shared their opinionsand experiences on risk control and recovery measures. After the conference,CIPS started to design and implant online training classes through its CIPSOnline University, which provides free professional training class since 2019.CIPS is planning China Aqua Online Post-Virus Recovery Conference on March 18with China Fisheries Association.

On February 5, CIPS and China North Veterinary Congress (CNVC) called out adonation for virus stricken Hubei province and launched an initiative to havevet consultation online. Within one month, nearly 800 hospitals received freeonline diagnosis program and started to offer this service to pet owners.

CIPS uses their database and marketing channels to help its exhibitorsreaching out to more potential clients. With the slow-down in the firstquarter of 2020, buyers are accumulating bigger orders to be placed on CIPS onNovember. Both exhibitors and buyers express their confidence on more fruitfulshow this year on CIPS.
