RNATT Declaration Update

The Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment(the department) has updated the rabies neutralising antibody titre test(RNATT) declaration form. The new form has been approved under Section 177 ofthe Biosecurity Act 2015 (the Act), and is required to be submitted with animport permit application for live cats and dogs exported from group 3countries and non-approved via group 2 or 3 countries. The new form can befound on the department’s website. This is a minor update to clarify somesections and instructions for Official Government Veterinarians completing theform. This minor update is expected to improve efficiencies and reduceincidences of follow-up, which may delay import permit applicationassessments.

From 1 June 2021, the department will only accept declarations made on the newversion of the form for applications to import cats and dogs from group 3countries or non-approved via Group 2 or 3 countries. The department willaccept declarations on both the new and previous version of the form forapplications submitted before 1 June 2021.
