Cat and Dog Christmas Closedown

The Department of Agriculture Canberra offices and post-entry quarantine (PEQ)facility in Mickleham, Melbourne will be closed for business from Wednesday 25December 2019 to Wednesday 1 January 2020, inclusive. The department willreopen for normal business on Thursday 2 January 2020.

Please note that the department’s service standards for responses to writtencorrespondence is 10 business days. Similarly, the service standards forpermit application assessment is 20 business days from the date all requiredinformation is provided and the application is paid for in full. The days inthe closedown period are not business days, and therefore not counted towardsthe service standards.

Additionally, the PEQ facility will not be taking cat and dog arrivals fromSaturday 14 December 2019 to Wednesday 1 January 2020 inclusive. Releases willoccur as usual until December 23 2019. Cat and dog collections will return tobusiness as usual arrangements on Thursday 2 January 2020.
