The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA) iscelebrating 150 years of animal welfare advocacy in Australia.
To celebrate, Australia Post has released a series of five stamps thatrepresent the RSPCA’s mission and practice of research, shelter, protection,certification, and advocacy.
Michael Zsolt, Group Manager Philatelic, Australia Post, said the RSPCAdeserves to be celebrated for its tireless work towards preventing animalcruelty.
“The RSPCA’s long history of advocating for animal welfare issues is somethingall Australians are proud of,” Zsolt said.
“The stamp designs really show the breadth of the RSPCA’s work acrosscompanion animals, farm animals, animals in sport, recreation and industry,and wildlife.”
Richard Mussell Chief Executive Officer, RSPCA Australia, said the stamps werea fitting addition to the 150th anniversary commemorations.
“These stamps are a wonderful opportunity to reflect on our great breadth ofwork and what has been achieved in what is an important milestone year forus.”
The stamps and associated products, including a minisheet, stamp pack, firstday cover and maxicard set, are on sale from participating Post Offices, viamail order on 1800 331 794, and online while stocks last.
